Our Breakfast Program
We are tremendously pleased to inform you of the success of the Breakfast Program, as you will read this progress report from the school’s Principal, Teachers and Students.
I cannot express enough of my heartfelt thanks to you, our faithful partners. Had it not been for your generous contribution, this would not have been possible. To God be the Glory.
The students and their parents highly appreciate the assistance with breakfast. Workdays were arranged where some of the parents, students, other community members and staff worked together to erect a Chicken coop to raise chickens for the Breakfast Program. Students were taught to grow vegetables and other ground provisions. Our school garden was placed first in the parish Competition and third nationally.
Our recent visit to the School
Schools are closed due to the Covid 19 Pandemic. The children of the Breakfast Programme are greatly affected. They have to now participate in the online classes. This has been very challenging for some students since some of them have no Smart phones, Laptop, Tablet or internet connection, while others had to borrow these Gadgets from neighbors in order to complete their school work.
In an effort to ensure all students had equal learning opportunity the teachers took it upon themselves to walk throughout the community to deliver the lessons and results to those not online. In spite of the challenges faced by students, their Primary Exit Profile (PEP) Exam for the High School Placement was successful and rewarding according to the Principal’s report.
I became quite concerned about these children knowing that their parents were unable to provide breakfast for them under normal situations let alone in this pandemic. The Principal also brought the situation to me. Being aware of the financial challenges that existed it was difficult to reach out to them.
I was having a conversation with a friend of mine in California, Vicky Fortson. I told her what was heavy on my mind. She immediately responded by sending me the first US one hundred dollars (US$100), and sought other support from both our acquaintances, Danny and Ayana Barrett.
Care Packages
Danny rose to the occasion, with a strong passion. He called some of his friends, who donated and their immediate response enabled me to purchase grocery items to prepare care packages for sixty-one students and their families. They were elated and very grateful to received them.
This has proven to me that God is always faithful. Providing the right people to give support in times of great need.
Aims and Objectives
Our plan for 2020

- To build a Chicken Coop to accommodate one hundred and fifty (150) birds to provide eggs for the Breakfast Programme. In addition we aim to raise funds to sustain the daily feeding of the children.
- To create fulltime employment for 2 persons who would maintain the farm while gaining assistance from community volunteers to enhance efficiency and output.
